Shape
Shape is typically the most dominant element of an image. It can be created by one object, such as a building or silhouette, or it can be created by many smaller objects, such as ice cream flavors in a shop.
Pattern
Patterns are also very eye catching, but even more than that, a break in the pattern can be used to develop a focus of interest.
Form
Form is also very important, as it gives a more 3D effect to shapes, and adds depth to the subject.
Texture
Texture is apparent when an image appears so strongly that it elicits a tactile response from the viewer creating an intense sense of realism.
Color
Color often draw someone to take a photo, but it is important to make sure that the color works well with the colors around it.
Perspective
Perspective is used to mold the structure of the image. An example is when something it viewed from far away, or close up, or with a wide-angle lens to change the size of the object.

Shutterstock Newsletter
So, I signed up for shutterstock, but I haven't sent anything in, yet. They sent out a newsletter saying that the pictures that are downloaded the most are the ones that convey an idea. For example, a picture that conveys spontaneity might get more downloads than a photo of a tree. I also heard that there are tons of pet, flower and computer equipment shots already, so steer clear of those, as well. Another thing that shutterstock said, was to try to take pictures of people in motion, rather than people who are rigidly posing. More people are looking for "natural feeling" images. This means that your subjects should appear to be caught doing things (such as acting spontaneously), rather than posing in a staged photo.

Photo Blog
As you can see, I don't have any posts up, yet, but this is going to be a photography blog. I am currently reading a few photography books, so I decided to share my knowledge on here, so you guys can bypass reading through the boring parts of the books. I will also be posting pictures that I take, as well as post info about different sites that pay money for photos. I am currently signed up for shutterstock, but I haven't started uploading pictures, yet. You can check out their website from this link:
